Great read as always Alan! As a daily passenger (and lover of efficiency) I always look for ways to speed up the process of getting from A to B. I am often shocked at the amount of people who spend valuable seconds digging at the bottom of their bag to find their snapper card or goes all the way to the back of the bus, we’ll knowing that they’ll get off at the next stop.

In my mind it all comes down to how people value other peoples time - I’m making an effort to be efficient and polite because I know that they all have work and other commitments they need to get to.

Loving hearing your stories Alan, keen to get more tips from your point of view on how to me a good passenger:)

I love your column Alan. It has me daydreaming about a complete change of career - even just knowing it's possible is a nice feeling.

Nice to hear Corinne. It is a great job and could be made so much better with fairer remuneration. I'll write about this in a future episode.

I loved this. I now live in a small rural town with no buses but I used them all the time in Auckland. I didn't think anything would make me nostalgic for my Auckland past, but this has.

Great going Alan. Very impressive that you can manoeuvre those great big things around those tiny streets. And thanks for the great tips. I'm not in bus territory very often but still endeavour to remember your pearls of wisdom.

So many helpful practical tips in here Alan. Just as useful for navigating the streets of Sydney as Wellington. And a perspective I've not heard in such detail before. Thank you!
