Great read, Alan. We've just emigrated to Wellington this past week and our experiences with the buses - and their drivers - has been wholly positive. Keep up the good work
Kia ora Alan! Loving this newsletter. I knew you nearly three decades ago in the photography world, it's so great to see what you're up to now. Thanks for choosing this profession. Hope to see you on a bus sometime!
I finally saw you on Thursday arvo, Driver. I was biking up Wallace street, you were heading towards Newtown. You had a cap on, and your mouth was ajar to miss those parked cars eh? I gave you a big wave. Look forward to the next post.
Yay, Alan. I eagerly await the morning I jump the bus and am blessed by your smiling face! Thanks, Driver! continues to be an excellent read. Much love my friend ♥️
Same here, it’s a great read. My brother drove buses in Welly for a few years and he often had the 14 route. So much of what you have written echoes his experience. Getting the line right etc. So good to have a happy driver, we need more of them.
So much to think about all the time you’re behind the bus wheel! I’m now even more in awe of bus drivers than I was before reading this marvellous piece of writing! Kudos!
Am loving this Substack I think its great thing which you are doing Alan!

Thanks Caitlin. Did you work with Mike in Knigges Ave? Welcome aboard!
That's right!
Blast from the past. So nice to have you as a subscriber!
Who knew an account of a bus driver’s day could make such good reading,! You have many talents Al, your writing skill is up there! ❤️
Thanks so much Meg. Always important to do the best we can in whatever we do, eh?

Hey Ben, been doing a few #18s through Newtown and always keep an eye out for you, as much as I can without hitting anything. 🤣
Top read Alan. I’m stressed now!
You can relax Mike. Have done a few South Karori runs. Hope to see you one night 'on the bus'
